Bike Tours are fun for anyone. Rome is not a bike friendly city and there is a lot of traffic usually but I was able not only to design the tours to keep you safe but to surprise you with the most beautiful perspectives. I think that a bike tour is, for its sustainability, for the action and motion involved, for the advantage of seeing more in less time, for the freedom of movement and of changing program that implies, the best way to discover Rome for adults and children. No matter how trained you are there is a bike tour to enjoy the eternal city easily for you and your companions.

City center Private bike tour

Starting from the Colosseum, we can ride along the Roman Forum, stop by the Trevi fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori, the Jewish Ghetto and if you are still eager for more we can make it longer and include Trastevere, Castel Sant’Angelo, San Peter square and piazza del Popolo. It will be easy and the paths would involve almost no climb at all. You will be surprised by the sudden change between a narrow alley, a colorful market, a bright square with monumental fountains and the amazing mix of Rome architectures. The everyday life of the citizens moving around you will be matched with stories and legends giving voice to monuments and stones. During the tour there will be always a break for a ice-cream, a coffee or a quick aperitivo. If the tour is longer we can plan to stop for a slice of pizza or a real lunch.

Ancient Appian way Private BIKE tour
+ aqueducts

The first modern road of history was built by the ancient Romans and nicknamed the queen of the roads. It was a connection first to the rich south of Italy, then to the Mediterranean with its busy ports, to the culture and art of Greece. Its Italian name is Via Appia Antica. All the rich families of the empire wanted a memorial along it to show their power and wealth and in the ’50s the movie stars bought here their villas. Today the best preserved piece is an archeological park in Rome open to everybody. We can ride on the slabbed road appreciating the beautiful old pine trees, the monumental ruins of castles, fortifications, hear the earlier legends of the first travellers and adventurers. We can extend the tour to reach the ruins of the famous Roman aqueducts. There is the possibility to stop for a snack or even for something more attractive like a Italian sheep cheese aperitivo in a farm in the heart of Rome or a lunch on a table at the shade of the aqueducts.

It’s a modulary tour depending on your interests and physical strength, min. 3/4 hours or 6 hours starting from 65€ per hour (no bike rental price or extra included). Bike rental starts from 4€ per hour depending on the model.

Technical data: length from 16 to 26 km (ca. 10-16 miles); from 145 to 181 m gain (ca. 476-594 feet); difficulty: medium

PANORAMIC private BIKE TOUR

We will appreciate the Colosseum from a higher perspective, discover some of the quieter historical hills with their mysteries, climb the highest one in the center, the Janiculum, the one that gives us a view on the Vatican state and on the eternal city and its countless domes. We will see the Presidential House, the Borghese gardens, cross the center through narrow alleys and a passages in front of San Peter and Castel Sant’Angelo and enjoy the view from one of the most beautiful terraces of Rome that thanks to the seven historical hills plus one has an incredible variety of paths, lights, architectures, urban landscapes and views to offer. A break will be proposed to taste some of our food specialties.

It’s a min. 4 hours tour starting from 65€ per hour (no bike rental or extras included). Bike rental starts from 4€ per hour depending on the model.

Outside Rome private Bike tours

The region of Rome is called Latium which means wide. The beauty of this area is not only huge but it offers an incredible variety of landscapes from the Apennine mountains through volcanic hills and lakes to the seaside, sometimes with sandy dunes and buffalos and some others with cliffs and ancient sanctuaries and temples

I divided for our comfort the Region in some historical-geographical areas: Rome area (Bracciano-Martignano, Prenestini, Lucretili, Simbruini, Castelli Romani, Campagna Romana, Tolfa), Tuscia (North-east), Sabine (North-West), Ciociaria (South-West) and Agro-Pontino (along the coast south from Rome). If you look at the pictures you will see the names of the places where they were taken.

The choice is therefore wide and it depends from many factors. I don’t propose bike tours to do sport, forget about it, it’s about enjoying the places, the people, the food. Of course we ride and your health and appetite will thank us. I love the slow peace because I don’t want you to miss anything beautiful when we travel or at least to enjoy most of it. The bike is the mean not the target and it’s the best choice.

So where I will bring you depends on you: how much time you want to dedicate to our tour, if you like to take trains and of course how much you are used to ride by bike. What makes everywhere special and magical here is that simply most of the places we will reach or ride through are totally unspoilt by tourism. In a world where authenticism became a big fraud and refers to especially arranged things to meet our expectations making a different choice like travelling by bike, going in place you never heard of, tasting things you would never eat and letting the world, the people around surprise you, it can bring us out of the box and making travelling a real journey of emotions, discoveries and knowledge.

It’s a min. 6 hours day trip and it can involve some distances by train depending on your choice; it starts from 65€ per hour (no bike rental, train ticket or extras included).
